The Harrogate Polyphonic Choir, of between 60 and 65, is made up of members of Harrogate Choral Society who come together to sing a wide range of repertoire from anthems and motets to Negro spirituals and folk songs.

The Choir sings in a variety of configurations and at a wide range of functions.

They are known for their performances at weddings, all of which are bespoke and tailored to suit the wishes of the particular bride and groom.

For the past three years they have been the major provider of Christmas Music at the candlelit dinners held in the Imperial Room at Betty's in Harrogate.

Each year the Polyphonic Choir gives a concert for charity. This is an opportunity to perform their wide repertoire and also to provide a platform for young aspiring musicians.

In the past the Choir has supported Dr Grahams Schools in India as well as local charities.

From within the Harrogate Polyphonic Choir there is an octet of female voices – Beati Cantores. This group also sing at various functions and their repertoire ranges from madrigals to songs from the shows.

Both ensembles are under the musical directorship of Marilynne Davies and if you are interested in engaging either of them please contact Marilynne through our contact us form.
